Hello, darlings! I hope that you have been doing well. We’ve got quite a bit happening astrologically, so I’m just going to get right to today’s topic.

Solar Eclipse and New Moon

On Saturday, April 30th, the sun and moon will be in the sign of Taurus. We are having a new moon and a solar eclipse on the same day. This eclipse will only be partial, visible to portions of South America, Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean, and the southern Atlantic Ocean. You may feel the strong effects of this eclipse if you have any fixed sign placements (Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius.) I have three of these placements scattered around my chart. I’ve noticed my sleep being irregular this week and my motivation being scattered. We just entered a Pluto retrograde, and a Mercury retrograde isn’t far behind. I’ll make a separate post talking about these retrograde periods next week. This energy isn’t anything to fear. When utilized properly, it’s an opportunity for introspection. The potency is best for healing and releasing baggage. The eclipse energy will have you doing the same. Even if you don’t have a fixed sign placement, it can still cause changes to your life. It’s best to meet these as opportunities for growth. Shadow work is a great way to focus on specific areas of your life that need attention.

Back in December, I talked about the solar eclipse that happened in the sign of Sagittarius. This affected mutable signs the most (Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces, and Virgo.) I have a Sagittarius sun. The month following the eclipse was spent in deep healing. I had several major life events coming up. Since I knew this energy was coming up, I used that new moon to manifest the changes I knew needed to happen. While most people would tell you not to intentionally manifest around an eclipse, I did it anyway. I wanted to change, and I did from the ground up. I did a new moon ritual in December, but I only included things I was already working on. I focused on my next step instead of the bigger picture. One of the main things that I manifested happened before the full moon. You can always wait for the next new moon or start again after the full moon lunar eclipse on the 16th. The universe will be shifting things for your path by itself, so manifesting may just get in the way. This is an opportunity to let go of control to see where you’re led!
